"Missing" is my graduation project from SVA, and a gift I prepared for my late grandmother. In the film, a little girl expresses her longing for her grandmother by releasing a flying lantern into the sky. During the production process, I hand-drew all the backgrounds using Photoshop and created the character models and lantern in Maya. I skillfully combined 2D and 3D techniques and used VFX to create dreamlike scenes. Through this work, I hope to convey the feelings of longing and sadness that come with losing a loved one, as well as the freedom and hope that come with letting one's soul soar.
